Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Tacoma- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination e-bike carrier on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The Destination has a 70 pound weight rating, so it's gonna work for your heavier e-bikes, and it also is a frame mounted carrier. So, the positive on that is the fact that it's gonna give you sturdy contact to the frame, and its unique mast allows you to adjust for the positioning of the clamps on the frame itself. Like, our frame is a little bit alternative versus a standard men's bike, but we're able to position it in a way where we can securely clamp it down. And there's also a second mast that reaches over. It will create 11 inches of separation between the bikes. more

RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail Hitch Mount Bike Rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. As far as bike racks go, the GuideRail is a personal favorite of mine because it's really well-built and I think it's a great fit on the 4Runner. It offers one of the best ground clearances out there. So if you're taking your 4Runner off the beaten path and you're worried about clearance, I don't think you have to worry about it as much with the GuideRail, and we'll check out that specific measurement later. But just as a rack itself, it's going to have an impressive capability, being able to hold up to 60 pounds per bike. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro three bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. The Piston Pro is a really nice bike rack. It's gonna be a dual wheel mount design, which just means it holds the bike by both tires. What that translates to is zero frame contact, making it a really good fit for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. The one downside to the three bike version that we have today is the weight capacity. more

Most cases, when you put a bike carrier on the back of a pickup, you just don't have that access, so that makes the AfterParty an awesome option for this vehicle. Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Tacoma- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Kuwait Transfer 3-Bike Carrier on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. You'll notice that our Transfer is a wheel mounted bike carrier where you have a contact point with the front hook that ratchets down to keep the front of your bike down and a rear cradle and strap to secure your bike. The type of person that would want to go for a wheel mounted carrier is a person who owns a bike that has a unconventional frame or possibly a carbon fiber bike frame that's going to secure your bike without having any contact points to the frame itself. The best feature of the Transfer is the fact that you can actually open the arms outward, where you can step on the inside so you don't have to lift over a bunch of things to load your bike. So, you can load this guy, the second one and the third. In this case, it's just one. more

RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Tacoma- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com taking a look at the Rocky Mounts Guide Rail on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The Guide Rail is a wheel mounted bike carrier that basically is gonna work well for anyone that has a bike that they don't want contact to the frame or is not possible like a unconventional frame or a step through bike. Also, if you have a carbon fiber bike frame, you really wouldn't want a hook pulling down on your frame, so you're secured by a front and rear strap. Another really cool thing about the Guide Rail is the fact that it has staggered trays, so it's gonna allow you to basically set the distance between your bikes to minimize handlebar interference. So another really cool feature, you don't necessarily have to have, your support arms symmetrical, so it allows you to offset the distance between the bike frame and the seat post. The Guide Rail can support a bike up to 60 pounds, so that'll work well if you have an e-bike. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota Highlander- Video
All right, Matt with etrailer, and today, we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Bike Rack on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. I think this is gonna be a good choice if you're just looking for something that's gonna be an entry level bike rack just get your bikes from point A to point B. It's gonna have the capacity to hold two bikes, 35 pounds each, so unfortunately, it won't be able to accommodate your heavier e-bikes, and it's gonna have three tie-down points, one on each tire, using a strap. And we're gonna have a clamp on the frame. So unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes, but it will be able to accommodate some other alternative frame bikes, since this kind of slides up and down and can rotate some. If you wanna get into your hatch, you're gonna have to take the bike off, since this doesn't have a tilt-away feature. more

Today when gonna talk about the Kuat Piston Pro Bike Rack for four bikes on the 2023 Toyota Highlander I'd definitely recommend this bike rack for anyone who wants a premium bike rack, but either wants to go out with the family, make sure you can haul all four of your bikes, or if you wanna go out with friends and ride your bikes with them. What's nice about it is that it's gonna make two points of contact, one on each tire, so you're gonna be able to haul a lot of carbon frame bikes and alternative frame bikes. And for all four bikes, you can carry up to 40 pounds. Now the nice thing about this rack is it has a tilt-away feature. Now there's a couple pros and cons to it. more

Now this is gonna be a solid bike rack if you're looking for something that's gonna be a little bit more versatile and something a little bit more in the premium end. What kind of makes this more versatile is that it's a platform bike rack that can hold up to two bikes, but it can hold bikes up to 60 pounds, so that's gonna be able to accommodate your e-bikes. Another thing that makes it more versatile is where it straps on, it's gonna have two tie-down points, one on the back tire with a strap, and the front one's gonna be a hook that hooks onto your tire. And what's important about that is it's gonna be able to accommodate a lot of different types of bikes, like your carbon frame bikes or a lot of alternative frame bikes. Another nice feature is it's ability to tilt away and to do that is pretty easy. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Yakima RidgeBack bike rack for four bikes on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Now I think this would be a great value option if you're looking for anything that's gonna be a hanging style that can carry up to four bikes. Especially if you're kind of going out with the family or you're going out with friends, it would be an easy way to kind of take all those bikes with you. Now, I wouldn't recommend taking any bikes that are carbon frame since we're gonna have three points of contact, and those contact points are gonna be on our frame. Now if you have any alternative frame bikes, I'd recommend probably getting a bike adapter bar just so you can adapt to those bikes being on there. more

I definitely recommend this rack to anyone looking to haul really heavy E-bikes in a very secure manner. Now it's gonna be able to hold two bikes, 80 pounds each. So really almost any bikes are gonna be accommodated with this rack, and it's gonna have three tie down points, one on each tire, and we're gonna have this hook that secures our frame. Hi, Matt with etrailer and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike rack on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. This is gonna be a very versatile entry-level bike rack if you wanna haul four bikes. This is gonna have a maximum capacity of 35 pounds per bike and it's gonna have three strap down points. One's gonna be on each tire and the third one is gonna be attached to your frame. So since it is making frame contact we don't recommend any carbon frame bikes but since this is adjustable too, it's gonna be great if you wanna try to accommodate a lot of alternative frame bikes. Since this is an entry level bike rack, It doesn't have a tilt away feature but something I do like about how it interacts with the Highlander is we still have a lot of clearance in between the back of our vehicle and our bike. more

If you need to carry more, there's a four bike version available and if you need to carry less, there's a two and a one bike. So, you kind of got all your bases covered there. Now, if I shake this frame, it's gonna wiggle a little bit, but it's pretty stable, except for our front tire. Now, if you want this to be more secure I'd recommend finding something to tie this down with, so it's not gonna wiggle as much. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Saris MHS on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. MHS is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike by the tires and in these trays. It's gonna mean a couple things, we've got zero frame contact making it good for our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and good for some of our e-bikes too with that battery removed. Like many other bike racks in this class, we do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded just by squeezing this handle at the back end here and letting the bike rack down. It'll stop itself right there, and then this will give us access to our truck bed by opening the tailgate up. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris MHS Platform-Style Bike Rack here on our 2022 Toyota Highlander. Now, this style of bike rack is becoming more and more popular where you've got a long tray and these two wheel hoops that are holding the bike in place. And this one actually does a really good job of holding it, partially because we've got secondary points of contact at the back wheel with this wheel strap and with this block right here that kinda wedges against the front wheel, and that's gonna keep that movement in the front wheel down to a minimum. Some other racks of this style do have a bit more bike movement, they hold them well, but for some people, that peace of mind, myself included, of seeing your bike staying still on the rack is really nice, so that's a big plus for this rack. Something else you have is the ability to tilt it away with the bikes loaded. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey everyone, I'm Charles with etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at the Saris MHS modular bike rack for two bikes for two inch hitches on the 2017 Toyota RAV4. So, this is a platform style rack made out of a steel and aluminum construction with a black powder coat finish, making it rust resistant and very durable. So, one of the cool things about this rack system is that it does have a tilt away function. It's right here on the handle. Something to keep in mind as this does carry heavy bikes, that you are gonna have the weight of those two bikes when you are tilting away and lifting back up. So, something I like to do is just keep one hand here or on the closest bike, take a step back, so that I don't get knocked out before my ride. more

RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away 2 Bike Rack Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hi everybody, Cooper here from etrailer and today we are going to be looking at our RockyMounts AfterParty on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. The AfterParty is a platform style bike rack that's gonna be able to hold up to two bikes and then those bikes are going to be weighted for 60 pounds each. The way that the AfterParty holds the bike is actually in a frameless contact way where it is ratcheting arms on either side of the bike, so that way it is held perfectly within place. One of the big advantages of the AfterParty is it's feature to go ahead and tilt away from the car allowing us a lot more access to our back end compared to some of the other bike racks that don't. So with something like this, I'm a lot more comfortable sitting down, maybe actually having the room and availability to tie my shoes because it is swung back away, you know, before or after loading, hitting the trails. And in order to lift it back up we actually don't have to pull on the handle. more

It's a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 45 pounds a piece. It's going to hold onto to our bikes primarily with this center mast and these frame hooks here as well as two straps down at the bottom. So if you wanna mix and match, we would recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes, 'cause it could potentially damage them while you're driving. And if you have a really aggressive alternative-style frame bike, we might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make it work, but let's check it out. more

Now, right off the bat, I do wanna let you know that if you have a carbon-fiber frame bike, this is not the bike rack for you. Now, this has three points of attachment on your frame. Now they are rubber and they're nice, but they're not made for carbon fiber. Now as far as function goes, if you want to remove your bike, it's pretty easy. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The Sherpa is a two-bike platform-style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 40 pounds a piece. It's going to hold onto them primarily with this front wheel hook here as well as one additional strap down at the bottom. So if you wanna mix and match, use this with your carbon frame, alternative frame bikes, you can, there's no frame contact, so there's not gonna be any damage there, and it should accommodate those aggressive alternative frame bikes too. OnRamp is rated for 66 pounds as it comes right now so it's gonna be really useful for your e-bike purposes. It's also rated for your fifth wheel, flat tow, motor home and travel trailer as well. So when you use it off road or with one of those it's gonna drop that weight capacity down to 40 pounds. Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium four bike hanging style bike rack and how it fits on the back of our 2022 Toyota RAV4. This is a hanging style bike rack and it does taper towards the end, which we'll get to in just a little bit, but it might be a good option for you if you're trying to transport up to four bikes, at 180 pounds total, where you need 'em to go. Our bike is held in place by these cradles, two on either side with these rubber straps as well as this rubber strap to prevent it from swaying in the back. So it will make frame contact with your bike which is important to keep in mind cuz if you do have a carbon frame bike it could potentially damage the frame while you're driving. Like I mentioned, you can see that it does taper here towards the end. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey it's Ethan here at eTrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 bike platform rack. And how it fits in the back of our 2022 Toyota Rav4. Gonna be a good option for you if you do need the ability to get four bikes to the trail. It's capable of supporting up to 35 pounds per bike, held primarily by the center mast here. These clamps do rotate and they are padded so they will support the frame a little bit, but we still don't recommend using carbon frame bikes, in the event that you are traveling with them, they have the potential to be damaged while the bike is moving. more

The Stage Two is a two bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting bikes up to 70 pounds. It's gonna hold our bike primarily by this wheel hook here and one extra strap down here at the bottom. This rack is really nice for bikes that may be a carbon frame or alternative frame, because it does use this wheel hook rather than making contact with the frame itself. So that's a nice feature about this bike rack that I enjoy. more

So the Yakima Ridgeback bike rack is what you would consider if you wanna carry around a lot of bikes, without taking up too much space. So we have a four version here. But you can also get a five version, where you can carry up to five bikes. Now hanging racks have their own pros and cons, like how it's a little trickier to get bikes on there compared to a platform rack and you don't have the same type of stability. more

How's it going everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The destination four is a platform style bike rack capable of supporting up to four bikes, 35 pounds each. Holding onto our bike primarily through these rotating padded clamps on our center mast here. And two additional points on the tires at the bottom. Because the rack is using a center mast that holds onto the actual frame of your bike, it's gonna be important to avoid using carbon frame bikes on this type of rack just because that could cause some potential damage with a carbon frame. more
